New Democracy (concept) - New Democracy is a Maoist concept based on Mao Tse-Tung's "Bloc of Four Classes" theory in post-revolutionary China. New Democracy is a type of socioeconomic structure where the country is purported to be ideologically communist and its people are actively involved in the construction of socialism, but the country itself still has a largely capitalist economy for purposes of rapid economic growth.

Most notably, von Neumann was a pioneer of the modern digital computer and the application of operator theory to quantum mechanics (see Von Neumann algebra), member of the Manhattan Project Team, creator of game theory and the concept of cellular automata.
